And The Rocket Red Glare....

As mentioned in the blogs from Karen/Bob Lutz and Brian Lutz, we had a most amazing July 4th. Maybe what made is so awesome was we had such low expectations. Most of the family was out town for the weekend and everyone that was in town, was invited over to our house to celebrate. I cooked a yummy chicken dinner. By the way, it is WAY easier to fry chicken for 12 than for 30. Our family went shopping for fireworks the previous night and after dinner we started the show that pretty much went on for the next 5 hours...NON-STOP! It was amazing and unless you were there, you really will not understand it. Every house on our street and in our sub-division for that matter was loaded with every variety of pyrotechnics you can possibly imagine. We missed the out-of-towners and our numbers were small but it was sort of nice because we were actually able to visit with each other without having to shout. If you have ever been to a VanderHoeven family gathering, you know what I am talking about. Anyway, it was really fun and here are some pictures of the night. We can hardly wait for next year!

Sounds so fun. Yay I love to see a Sirrine FRONT yard party! Sorry I missed it but glad you didn't need to shout.

Pencil us in for next year, although this time we will pick up the fireworks along the way.

I didn't mean the "shouting" comment to offend. Just a observation because it was really strange and different than how things normally are.
