Our first grandchild, Logan Dean Sirrine, will be arriving any day now and we could not be more excited. On Friday night my wonderful sisters and sister-in-law Valerie, had a baby shower for Cat.
As with any VanderHoeven machine event, we can never do anything in small way and it felt more like we were planning a wedding than a shower. There were over 50 people invited and we had at least 35 or so attend. We had the shower over at Opa's house since it was more centrally located and large enough to hold a crowd.
We spent the entire day Friday getting things ready. The highlight of the preparations had to have been when I opened the BBQ grill to cook chicken skewers and there was rat inside there enjoy the remnants from our last party. After I had a heart attack, I screamed for Jack who attempted to trap the thing inside and light the grill. Upon reminding him that we needed the grill to cook food for the shower, he decided that he would just gas the thing. The rat ended up escaping through one of the holes on the side of the grill but I am sure he at least had a headache and hopefully, we will NEVER see him again!

Anyway the shower turned out very well though and sweet Logan received many many cute and useful things. We can hardly wait to welcome him into our family soon. Thank you everyone for your help and support. You guys are the BEST!
