Happy Birthday Cranky Franky!

Today is Jacob's 18th birthday and as has become customary on our blog, we wanted to honor him on his special day. Jacob was born in Killeen Texas and was our fourth child. Our largest gaps between children was between Jacob and Matthew of 3 1/2 years and I remember how excited we were to be bringing another baby into our family. He was born just before Mike was deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Desert Storm and I remember it was just me and my 4 children for the first 5 months of his life. Those were really tough times but looking back on it now, they were also really fun. We are so grateful for all of our experiences and challenges. They have made us the people we are and have shaped our children into really becoming awesome adults.

Jacob is really a great guy. He is a little bit misunderstood in that he has this really tough outer shell and comes off as being a little rough around the edges but those of us that know him really well know that he is a marshmellow on the inside. He has a very tender heart and is deeply caring and loyal to those he cares about. He has strong opinions and is never afraid to stand up for what he believes in. We love you Jacob! We hope you have a wonderful day.
